AWESOME!!!! I love the vintage travel art you’ve incorporated. I love that artwork in any case, but in this setting, obviously, it works so perfectly. Ack, and the little red radio in the bedroom is absolutely DARLING! (And I do NOT use that word loosely ~ or EVER, for that matter!! It’s just so dang cute.)
Man, I can’t WAIT for this adventure to get on the road! 🙂
This is so awesome …. I adore the little pet stations that your furries have staked out. It all looks so comfy throughout and spacious too. You will have so much fun on this adventure!
Gail, I’ll be taking off at the end of September. I just sent you an invitation to my going away party scheduled for Sunday, September 13! Hope you can make it!
Such an artful and comfortable nest — it looks like the interior of a posh yacht! (I guess it is a yacht of sorts, huh?) Can hardly wait to read what adventures await you & Nellie & The Beasties.
Thank you, Donna! And thank you for the quick turnaround and excellent work on my travel art canvas. Now I won’t have to take it down every time I bring in the slide! Hope to see you again the next time I’m in the Troutdale area.
I found your blog via a link on Gone with the Wynns most recent post & have just spent a lot of time catching up on your journey. I’m gobsmacked by how gorgeous the interior of you mh is & especially love the grey cabinets (did you paint them & if som what was your process?) & that corner sofa. I hate the dinette in our travel trailer but the water pump lives under one bench. I would love to find a way to put a corner sofa that could be moved + a small chair on the other side rather than the dinette.
Happy safe travels to you & your fur sweeties (they’re adorable–am a dog person & especially love Olive)

Dawn, thank you for your comments! The paint on the cabinets and walls is Matador 20% post-catalyzed pigmented enamel. It is manufactured at Innovative Manufacturing in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. The cabinets were lightly sanded prior to spraying and the walls were washed with TSP and well-rinsed. The cabinets were removed and sprayed in a spray booth to attempt to remove most of the dust.

I also found your blog through a link on Gone with the Wynns site. I read a few posts and loved them so much that I decided to go back to your first post and read them in chronological order.
Much of what you have written is so familiar to me. I left my career, sold my house and all my belongings, bought a dually and a 5th wheel toy hauler and started my full time RV adventure June 1, 2015.
Nellie is beautiful and I am impressed you have her all gussied up so quickly! I stayed in one place for the month of June foolishly believing that I would be able to get everything the way I wanted it in that month. I am now hoping to have things really together by the end of the year.
I love the life and I’m glad to see another solo woman taking on the challenge and writing so eloquently about the experience.
I truly hope to meet you out there!
Tammy,
Greetings from Austin, TX. I happened on your wonderful site when Googling “Newmar”. My mate and I plan to sell our home in the next three years and take to the road. Like you, the Ventana seems to fill the bill and suit our needs and wants. The only sticking point for me is the interior decor; even “high end” motor homes lack the fun, tasteful, inspired look you’ve created in Nellie. I’d love to learn more about what you did to make your home on wheels so gobsmackingly gorgeous and one-of-a-kind. I’m delighted to have found you and look forward to reading about more of your adventures.

Your place looks great!… Curious?… How did you paint the cabnitry?… What kind and color of paint? Was it sprayed on or brushed?

Wow, we are both on a very similar trajectory! Let’s make sure we cross paths down the road. You sound like a woman I’d like to meet.
Wow. Nellie is beautiful. Happy trails!
