Greetings From America

For all you non-lawyer, non-Washingtonian types, here’s an article I wrote which was published this month in the magazine of the Washington State Bar Association. Hope you enjoy it!

Well written. Good points made. You never know what tomorrow or next week will bring. Trust me it’s true. If I knew when we retired that husband would be in a 3 year battle with cancer, we would have changed a lot in our lives. Now we can’t because we have to be near the big Med Cener.

Great article Tammy! I’m in my 3rd week of retirement – what you say about stress is so true – the other day my mother said “It is so good to hear you laugh again, I haven’t heard you laugh for such a long time!”.

    Hi there Tammy,

I noticed where you worked, I have a sister that lives in Mt. Vernon, WA, what a beautiful area. She is a teacher to the tribe children up there.

I appreciate your motivations and advice. Thank you for doing what you do, it inspires me to keep my dream alive. I retire on May 1, 2017. I can’t wait!!

Tammy, I venture to guess that thousands of Washington lawyers read your article and lamented over their loss of dreams and acceptance of stress and strife. I was one of them.
I’ve got some mouths to feed at home, so I will keep returning to the nest. Yet, I will keep setting time aside for my writing.
Thanks for being a positive person and an inspiration!

Neil, thank you for saying hello! Feed the mouths, of course, and make time to feed the soul too. Good on ya!

    Tammy,

It was great to read your article and find out what you are up to these days. I cannot say that I was surprised, but I am still somewhat envious. You are so right when you say that lawyers need interests outside of the law. I try to keep my life full of stimulation. I wish you the best in your journey. Life is all about the journey.

David! So good to hear from you!

So many of the blogs I read have married couples that travel. I am married, but would be traveling single, so it is nice to read about solo travelers and their experiences. You have a huge rig, too! Holy cow! Happy travels and keep on the sunny side!
